EN: The Schlaichturm is located on the northern edge of the Three Countries Park in Weil am Rhein. It was built in 1999 on the occasion of the state horticulture festival "Grün 99" and connects the town district Leopoldshöhe with the park area, with a highway and a railway line to be crossed.
The tower has a height of 24 meters. The two spiral staircases are 65 meters long. From the lower platform a footbridge leads to the north; on the overlying observation deck you have a view of the park area, the lower Wiesental, St. Chrischona and Basel.
DE: Der Schlaichturm befindet sich am Nordrand des Dreiländerparks in Weil am Rhein. Er wurde 1999 anlässlich der Landesgartenschau "Grün 99" errichtet und verbindet den Stadtteil Leopoldshöhe mit dem Parkareal, wobei eine Autobahn und eine Bahnlinie überquert werden.
Der Turm hat eine Höhe von 24 Metern. Die zwei spiralförmigen Aufgänge sind 65 Meter lang. Von der unteren Plattform führt eine Fussgängerbrücke noch Norden; auf der darüberliegenden Aussichtsplattform hat man eine Aussicht auf das Parkgelände, das untere Wiesental, St. Chrischona und Basel.
