"In 1923, the Civic Club of Binghamton donated a Memorial Grove and bench to honor those who lost their lives during World War I. More than 50 trees were planted with a plaque bearing a single name attached to each tree. A beautiful bench was constructed for reflection of life and death."
The stone with the plaque has the date of 1918, the bench has the date of 1923. Both were donated by the Civic Club of Binghamton.
The bench has "Memorial Garden dedicated by the Civic Club of Binghamton to the men of Broome County who gave their lives in the World War"
