Original Gothic castle from the 13th cent, was in the 16th cent, reconstructed into a Renaissance chateau. During the time of the Ugarte family it got through a Baroque adaptation. Later owner has been the House Liechtenstein. In the time of the family Lobkovic have been the adjacent buildings of the chateau renovated in New Gothic style. The chateau inherited the Harrach stock. The last owner was from 1937 the daughter of F. Harrach the Josefa Podstatzká, to whom was the chateau given back in 1995. In the chateau in now located the District museum and the Museum of routes and highways.
