Velké Mezirící je moravské mesto v okrese Ždár nad Sázavou v kraji Vysocina, 31 km východne od Jihlavy na soutoku rek Oslavy a Balinky. Nekdy se mu také ríká zkrácene Velmez nebo také Medric. Ze soutoku obou rek také pochází dnešní název Velké Mezirící.

Mesto leží v tesné blízkosti dálnice D1, která mesto preklenuje mostem Vysocina na svém 144. kilometru. V roce 2011 má spolu se svými sedmi cástmi mesta pres 11 tisíc obyvatel. Ve znaku má cervený štít se sedmi stríbrnými pery zasazenými ve zlatém perizoniu.
