Bathurst Lighthouse was built in 1900, in response to several shipwrecks, including the loss of the \"City of York\" in 1899. It was converted to electricity in 1986 and uses a 60W 12V globe that can be seen up to 24km away....That\'s about the same power globe as used in a car\'s headlamp!
