Cette bibliothèque libre-service est située sur le terrain d'une résidence familiale au 10 St-Eusèbe à Laval.

Ces petites bibliothèques gratuites, mini-bibliothèques individuelles ou parfois collectives – associations, quartiers ou communautés- qui commencent à fleurir un petit peu partout dans le monde. Inspirées du bookcrossing, ces petites bibliothèques gratuites et libres d’accès permettent à tout amateur de livres de mettre les livres de son choix à la disposition de la communauté, dans un esprit citoyen prônant les valeurs d’échange, de don, de simplicité, de proximité et de convivialité. Pas d’horaire, pas ou peu de règlement. Avec cette initiative, chacun peut ouvrir sans délais son petit établissement de prêt et devenir citoyen-bibliothécaire diplômé ! Nous les trouvons en grand nombre aux Etats-Unis d’où est parti ce mouvement sous la bannière Little Free Library. ¨Take a book, leave a book / Prenez un livre, laissez un livre¨, telle est la devise de cette organisation à but non-lucratif créée en 2010 par Todd Bol, habitant du Wisconsin. Ce réseau physique de petites structures individuelles est largement implanté en Amérique du Nord et se développe rapidement aux quatre coins de la planète: Italie, Allemagne, Australie… Chacun peut mettre facilement les ouvrages déjà lus à la disposition de ses voisins ou de simples passants.

These small free libraries, individual mini-libraries or sometimes collective - associations, neighborhoods and communities-that begin to bloom a little bit everywhere. Inspired by these small bookcrossing free and open access libraries allow any book lover to the books of his choice available to the community in a spirit of citizenship extolling the values of exchange, gift, simplicity, proximity and friendliness. No schedule, no or little regulation. With this initiative, anyone can open without delay its small lending institution and become a citizen librarian graduate! We find them in numbers to the United States where did this movement under the banner Little Free Library. ¨Take a book, leave a book / Prenez un livre, laissez un livre¨ is the motto of this non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Todd Bol, a resident of Wisconsin. This physical network of small individual structures is widely established in North America and is expanding rapidly across the globe: Italy, Germany, Australia... Everyone can easily put the books already read available to its neighbours or bystanders.
