Arriving in Phoenix, Arizona in 1882, George H.N.Luhrs purchased a commercial block in central Phoenix and operated the city stables and corral. As Phoenix boomed he developed a hotel, post office and commercial buildings on the site. Luhrs Tower was built in 1929 to fill the need for office space as the city developed after World War One. At fourteen floors it remained the tallest structure in the southwest for decades. Luhrs Tower remains a significant architectural structure in central Phoenix and is once again offering office space in the heart of the city.
