QM 41-1 - Fort Sill, OK - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This is an old survey marker placed by the Constructing Quartermaster of Fort Sill. The Constructing Quartermaster was a position back when the Department of Defense was known as the War Department. I found no date around the marker giving any indication of its age. I also found no reasoning for its location, it not on a hilltop or other geographically significant point. THis marker is not listed on any online database. It is monumented in a concrete block under a quad signal target.

It can be found on the west side of Fort Sill Blvd just past the Shoppette on Fort Sill.
