The church of Lausen and its cemetery probably date back to the 8th century. There was a village called Bettenach of maybe Roman origin that was abandoned and disappeared in the 12th century. The church stayed intact and became the church of the later founded Lausen, that is why it is so uncommon far from the historic town center.

The cemetery is located east and north of the church inside the wall surrounding the church. It has maybe 150 graves. One of the fountains is shaped after an Alemanni cross fibula from around the year 700 that was found here.
Name of church or churchyard: St. Niklaus

Approximate Size: Large (100+)
