This bridge is a Two-span concrete arch bridge over Lake Creek, built by the railroad's own crews.
Arched concrete bridges are unusual on the Katy. Effective for short spans, this one was built over a small tributary of Lake Creek in 1912.
The Katy (MKT) Railroad discontinued use of this line when severe flooding removed miles of track and the cost of repair was prohibitive. The railroad ceased operation on this line in 1986.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources acquired the corridor and made it the largest rails-to-trails state park in the nation.
It opened to pedestrian and bicycle use in 1990.
