One figure might be the native chief Sequoia? Don't think we had buffalo in California?
John Muir was born 177 years ago on April 21. Dec. 24, 2014 was the 100th anniversary of his death. He spent weeks, months exploring the high country and has a trail named for him that intersects part of the Pacific Crest Trail.
