This memorial of black polished granite with an etched face is situated in a small park in the town of Mirani near Mackay. The only words inscribed are those of the Ode of Remembrance:
They shall grow not old, As we that are left grow old, Age shall not weary them, Nor the years condemn. At the going down of the Sun And in the morning We will remember them.
Lest We Forget.
At the base of the memorial are the insignia of the Army, Navy & Air Force.

Description of Memorial:
The memorial stands out because of the highly polished surface set against a background of tightly clipped box hedge. I could see it from the nearby railway station so walked over to have a look.
