entry for Helen Marbut has some useful biographical information. Helen was born on 14 November 1899 in Columbia, Missouri, and apparently never married. She was a professor of physical education in Harrisonburg, Virginia at the James Madison University. In 1950 she retired from that position and moved to the McDowell area of Barry County where she farmed (in retirement!). She died on 15 October 2001, just short of 102 years old.
