This large installation features both an interactive sundial (adjusted for regular and daylight savings time) where you act as the gnomen. The planets are laid out to scale around the large open space area, with Pluto being roughly 250' (76 m) away.

Scientific Principle(s) being demonstrated: Sundial - rotation of the earth Planets - scale of our galaxy Briefly explain if the experiment was effective for you. Could it have been better?: The shadow I cast as the gnomen was quite accurate. I enjoyed that there were time scales for both regular and daylight savings time. The walking distance to Neptune and Pluto (for that matter, Jupiter) reinforce the huge size of our galaxy. When is the apparatus/experiment available to the public: Dawn to dusk
