Am Freitag, den 6. Dezember 2002, wurde auf dem Marktplatz bei der Travemünder St. Lorenz-Kirche der Nikolausmarkt eröffnet, der von der Travemünder Handwerkergemeinschaft und dem Gemeinnützigen Verein zu Travemünde veranstaltet wurde. Ein besonderer Anlaß war die Enthüllung der Bronzefiguren von Otto Timmermann und zwei Kindern.

On Friday, 6th of December, 2002, the Nicholas's market which was organised by the Travemünde craftsman's community and the charitable association for Travemünde was opened on the marketplace with the inhabitant of Travemünde Saint Lorenz-Kirche. A special occasion was the exposure of the bronze figures of Otto Timmermann and two children.
