This chrome steel sculpture is called Welt-Ereignis (world occurence/sensation). It has a diameter of something over one meter and is located in a corner of a park of Allschwil. It was created in 1986 by Francis Béboux.
Francis Béboux was born in Allschwil in 1915. He constructed custom three-wheeled cars in the early 1950s and focused on iron sculptures after 1960. He lived all his life in Allschwil where several of his works are on public display. In February 2015, he died in Allschwil in the age of 99.
