Brass plaque with engraved compass rose, commemorating the John Bradfield Viewing Area on the Landguard Peninsula, Felixtowe, near the fence of The Port of Felixstowe.

In the centre of the compass if the badge of Port of Felixstowe, and around the outside is the inscription:
The John Bradfield Viewing Area opened by Dr. J. Bradfield on the 18th December 1992

The Landguard Peninsula is located at the southerly most point of the town of Felixstowe.

Nearby is Landguard Fort, one of England's best-preserved coastal defences, with a history spanning almost 450 years. And the neighbouring Felixstowe Museum, with fascinating artefacts and collections of military and social history of this seaside town.

Surrounding the Fort and Museum is a vegetated shingle habitat of the Landguard Nature Reserve, with rare plants, migrating birds and military history.
