The Salem Municipal Building was constructed in 1888 as the Salem National Bank building. It was built in a Queen Anne style. The building was designed by Philadelphia architect, David Evans. It served as a bank until 1926 when it was purchased by the city and converted to serve as the Municipal Building. The building has undergone recent restoration work and continues to house the offices for the City of Salem.
