This building is in good condition and is currently unoccupied.
Date of Construction: 1903-04

A two-story, stone masonry commercial building, constructed of sandstone walls with a façade of pressed and buttered brick trimmed with sandstone voussoirs, quoins and other decorative insets. The entire structure rests upon a sandstone foundation and is covered with a flat, standing seam tin roof.

This building, constructed as the Barnett Brothers Mercantile Company, remains one of the finest commercial buildings in Batesville. Its façade is designed in the Renaissance Revival style; significant details include the splayed stone voussoirs over the row of fourteen arched windows which light the second floor, the alternating stone quoins and the delicate corbelling in the panel brick work beneath the bracketed metal cornice.
