Gated remnants of the Old Methodist Church cemetery in Kemptville. The cemetery had fallen into disuse and disrepair and was in danger of being lost to history.
In 2005, in honour of the 175th anniversary of St James United Church and the 80th Anniversary of the United Church in Canada a restoration/preservation project was commenced. Surviving stones from the cemetery were replanted around the base of one spired stone. The area was then gated to preserve and protect the stones.
There are 5 marble stones placed around the base of the spired marker. All identifying marks are all but obliterated. However, the markers are used as representations of all who were buried here.
