This Mount Gambier region has many limestone caves. Sea water corroded the limestone, and when the chamber's roof collapsed, the sinkhole was naturally created. It has a diameter of approximately 40 metres.
In 1886 James Umpherston started a garden in the sinkhole.
Today visitors have a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenic gardens, which are stunning day and night.
