New Brunswick highway web cameras are operated by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. The cameras are part of the Department’s Road Weather Information System. Most are mounted on tall steel towers, pretty much all of which have weather sensors included on the tower. The sensors measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind direction and speed. The province has right around 50 web cameras, covering all the major routes in the province.
The webcam pic below is more or less real time and will update every 15 to 30 minutes, depending on conditions.
On the southwest side of Highway 2, the Trans Canada Highway, this camera is looking southeast down the highway. Camera and tower are just northwest of the city of Edmunston, at the south edge of a satellite city named Saint-Jacques. Another 11 kilometres northwest on the Trans Canada and one will find oneself in the province of Quebec.
