The present jetty is the third to be built in the vicinity, the original wooden rail jetty was constructed in 1872 for loading jarrah logs , when no longer in use and in a bad state it was demolished and a second wooden one built in 1939. The present concrete jetty dates from the late 1990's and reaches 150m into Cockburn Sound
