The date of construction is displayed as two separate numbers, each red although the paint is fading & peeling.
The original building was constructed in 1915 but was burnt down & a 'new' theatre opened in 1921. The theatre was rebuilt in 1937 & an outdoor theatre added in 1938 - 39 for summer time use. The theatre closed in 1972.
