WHAT WAS INAUGURATED
"The Nine Train Station is a railway infrastructure of the Minho Line and Braga Branch Line, which serves the town of Nine, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal.
The section between Nine and Porto-Campanhã the Minho Line opened to exploitation on May 21, 1875; the same day, also entered the service Extension of Braga, connecting this station to the city of Braga.
In addition to the junction point between the Minho Line and the extension of Braga, one of the objectives for the construction of this station was to be a warehouse for redistribution of the various products of Minho.
The second section of the Minho Line up to Midões entered service on January 1, 1877.
In 1936, the Company of the Portuguese Railways made major repair works on this railway station.
In 1968, that operator provided for the implementation of a national plan via renewal, including full refurbishment of the shaft between Braga and Faro, and partial renovation in the section between Nine and Valencia, to be run by a consortium of companies SOMAFEL, Somapre, A. Borie and A. Dehé."
