The park extends over nearly 3 hectares and dates back to the 19th century.
Lord Ailwyn, a Lt Colonel in the Rifle Brigade, was former owner until 1936. The land was purchased by the council in 1960.
The former gardens of the house called Stone Lodge are now Stonelodge park.
