New Brunswick highway webcameras are operated by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. The cameras are part of the Department’s Road Weather Information System. Most are mounted on tall steel towers, pretty much all of which have weather sensors included on the tower. The sensors measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind direction and speed. The province has right around 50 web cameras, covering all the major routes in the province.
The webcam pic below is more or less real time and will update every 15 to 30 minutes, depending on conditions.
On the west side of Highway 11, this webcam is looking south at a small lighthouse on the northern bank of the Big Tracadie River. The camera is at the southern end of Tracadie-Sheila, just north of the bridge over the Big Tracadie. Continuing down Highways 11 and 15, one would reach Moncton in another 210 kilometres or so.
