Le Holiday Inn Montréal Centre-ville Ouest, présentement en développement, deviendra une belle et moderne addition au parc hôtelier de Montréal.
Situé au coin du Boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest et de la rue Lucien L’Allier, à quelques pas de la rue Crescent et à un bloc du Centre Bell (aussi la maison des Canadiens de Montréal), de la rue Sainte-Catherine et ses boutiques, de la station de métro Lucien L’Allier et à proximité des compagnies telles que CGI,IBM,CIBC, ou encore de l’école de commerce Molson et de l’université Concordia.
Un emplacement idéal aussi bien pour des voyages d’affaires ou de loisirs.
Selon le promoteur du projet, Marc Varadi, de Canvar, ça devrait prendre trois ans pour terminer l'immeuble au complet, et deux ans pour pouvoir ouvrir l'hôtel.
L'hôtel occupera les 10 premiers étages du gratte-ciel, et des appartements seront érigés aux 30 étages supérieurs. La tour mesurera 120 mètres (environ 400 pieds).
Les travaux ont déjà commencés sur ce projet, voici quelques étapes franchies au moment de soumettre mon waymark pour approbation :
- Novembre 2014, les travaux ont commencé en détruisant les bâtisses existantes.
- Décembre 2014, on procède au pieutage et à la préparation du terrain.
- Mars 2015, les travaux de creusage sont commencés.
- Avril 2015, l'affiche du projet est dévoilée, elle est installée au coin du Boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest et de la rue Lucien L’Allier
- Mai 2015, le creusage va bon train, ils ont atteint le 4e sous-sol.

The Holiday Inn Montreal Downtown West, currently under development, will become a beautiful and modern addition to the hotel park of Montreal.
Located at the corner of René-Lévesque Boulevard West and Lucien L'Allier Street, just steps from Crescent Street and one block from the Bell Centre (also home of the Montreal Canadiens), the Sainte-Catherine Street and its shops, Metro Station Lucien L'Allier and close to companies such as CGI, IBM, CIBC, or the Molson Business School and Concordia University.
An ideal location for both business and recreational trips.
According to the project developer, Marc Varadi, of Canvar, it will take three years to complete the entire building, and two years to open the hotel.
The hotel will occupy the first 10 floors of the skyscraper, and apartments will be built on the 30 upper floors. The tower will measure 120 meters (about 400 feet).
Work has already started on this project, here are some milestones already passed as I submit my Waymark for approval:
- November 2014, work has begub, destroying existing buildings.
- December 2014, one proceeds to pieutage and site preparation.
- March 2015, excavation work is started.
- April 2015, the project sign is unveiled, it is installed at the corner of René-Lévesque Boulevard West and Lucien L'Allier Street
- May 2015, the digging is going well, they reached the 4th basement.
