A 32" by 22.25" by 12" marble bust of Abraham Lincoln was created by Sarah Fisher Ames (1817-1901) between 1864 and 1866. Thus, the sculpture was started during the final years of Lincoln's life and completed after his death.
The bust of Lincoln rises from a circular marble base. Lincoln is wearing classical robes which extends down to his mid-chest. The sculpture was a gift of Mrs. Asa H. Morton.
