We arrived at Waterrock milepost 421 in thick fog.
It was the first day of the year that the Visitor Center was open.
Waterrock Knob Visitor Center sits at almost 6,000 feet elevation. The Center has book sales, and Information on the trailhed leading to the summit of Waterrock Knob. You can also get your National Park Passport stamped.
The last hiking trail along the Parkway on the way to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Waterrock Knob offers fantastic views of the Blue ridge Mountains both East and West from the parking area. (subject to weather)
