Sergeant Blaketon is on edge when the ACC comes to stay at Ashfordly Hall for the bird shoot. It is unfortunate when all of Lord Ashfordly’s birds are stolen. Greengrass is in the frame, but his Lordship doesn’t want a fuss.
A young girl, Susan Rawlings is rushed to hospital after an illegal abortion. Suspicion turns to a local lad, but Rowan finds he is not responsible. By tracking down the taxi driver that gave Susan a lift Rowan finds an ex nurse who performed the abortion. He gets Kate to give her a warning.
