This library was the last Carnegie Library to be built in the state of Oklahoma. It was dedicated on June 22nd, 1922. the initial request for the library was sent in August of 1902 stating that the city of Lawton was well on its way to become a major city in the southwest having grown to 8,000 people in a year. the library searved the Lawton Fort Sill community until 1973 when the new library was finished. It was rededicated in 1980 as the Town Hall so that it could still serve the community.
