New Brunswick highway web cameras are operated by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. The cameras are part of the Department’s Road Weather Information System. Most are mounted on tall steel towers, pretty much all of which have weather sensors included on the tower. The sensors measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind direction and speed. The province has right around 50 web cameras, covering all the major routes in the province.
The webcam pic below is more or less real time and will update every 15 to 30 minutes, depending on conditions.
This camera is mounted on a steel tower on the west side of Highway 148, looking southeast across the highway directly at a small roadside cemetery on the other side. The camera is immediately north of Phail Road and less than 300 metres south of the bridge at Durham Bridge Road. This is about 15 kilometers north of Fredericton.
