New Brunswick highway web cameras are operated by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. The cameras are part of the Department’s Road Weather Information System. Most are mounted on tall steel towers, pretty much all of which have weather sensors included on the tower. The sensors measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind direction and speed. The province has right around 50 web cameras, covering all the major routes in the province.
The webcam pic below is more or less real time and will update every 15 to 30 minutes, depending on conditions.
This camera is at a high point in Highway 7, at the entrance for northbound traffic from Enniskillen Road. Camera and tower are on the northeast side of the the highway, 500 metres northwest of the Enniskillen Road overpass, looking northwest, away from the overpass. Here, we are about 45 kilometres north of Highway 1 and Saint John.
