St. Dionysius in Essen-Borbeck is a three-aisled New Gothic basilica built in the years 1862-1867 by the architect Vincenz Statz (* 9. April 1819 in Köln; † 21. August 1898 in Köln).
The laying of the foundation stone took place on 8/7/1862 and the consecration by archbishop Paulus Melchers on 5/24/1867.
St. Dionysius is a monument since 1987.
