The Blue Ridge Parkway an American National Scenic Byway, begins in Virginia & finishes in North Carolina after 469 miles. The location featured in this waymark is the National Parks main visitor center on the 'Blue Ridge Parkway' Ashville, North Carolina.

It becomes obvious why they call them the Blue Ridge Mountains, after you travel mile after mile of distant blue mountains, that is if you are below 4000 feet, over that, today & you are in the clouds, I had difficulty finding one of the visitor centres after I had parked, at one of my stops.
