New Brunswick highway webcameras are operated by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. The cameras are part of the Department’s Road Weather Information System. Most are mounted on tall steel towers, pretty much all of which have weather sensors included on the tower. The sensors measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind direction and speed. The province has right around 50 web cameras, covering all the major routes in the province.
The webcam pic below is more or less real time and will update every 15 to 30 minutes, depending on conditions.
This tower mounted camera is on the south side of Highway 16, looking east-northeast up the highway. Camera and tower are 550 metres east of Upper Cape Road and 13 kilometers southwest of the Centennial Bridge to Prince Edward Island.
