Clairview is one of the few places along the Bruce Highway where you can actually see the ocean & is a popular place to take a break. The You Are Here map is located in the main picnic area & has information about Clairview, the dugong sanctuary, camping, bushwalking & the Bicentennial National Trail.
At low tide you can walk almost to The Great Barrier Reef but as there is a 5 metre variation in the tides be sure to time it right. Also don't take a dip in the waters between November & April as this is the season for the deadly box jellyfish. Personally I wouldn't take a dip as crocodiles & sharks are year round visitors.
However I always stop here, have a cuppa & admire the view.
