This monument to a 7th South Carolina Infantry Regiment is in recognition of their service during the during the
Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. The regiment was commanded by Lt. Col. Elbert Bland. (Killed), Major John S. Hard (Killed) and Capt. E. J. Goggans. This is the only monuments to the 7th South Carolina Infantry Regiment on the battlefield.
This monument is located on the south side of Snodgrass Hill, in the woods, south of the 19th Ohio (USA) marker and the blue plaque for Connell's Brigade (USA).

Short Physical Description
A simple, rectangular, rock-faced block set on a rock-faced base, 3' wide x 2' high x 1.5' deep, with a smooth-faced area on the top that carries an inscription. Marks the regiment's position during the battle.
