Nova Scotia highway webcams are operated by the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (TIR). Most are mounted on tall steel towers, most of which have weather sensors included on the tower. The sensors measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind direction and speed.
The webcam pic below is more or less real time and will update every 30 to 40 minutes, depending on conditions.
This tower mounted camera is just north of the overpass at exit 3 on Highway 101. The exit is to allow access to Highway 1 from 101. The tower and camera are on the east side of the highway, looking north. They are about 9 kilometres up the highway from Sackville (Nova Scotia, not New Brunswick).
