The Clear Creek Greenway is a Bureau of Land Management project to protect and re-establish the environmental conditions that were nearly destroyed by gold mining and the large-scale dredging of the creek over the decades. Now, this greenway contains protected lands and many trails for visitors to appreciate the land that once made many fortunes in gold.
The overlook of Clear Creek Gorge is obtained via a platform on the north edge of the creek. Our family tried to see any salmon but didn't, but we DID see what looked like a river muskrat or otter-like animal fishing for small fish.
