On March 30, 1878 François Boileau leads a freight train on the line Le Mans-Tours. At Vernay, on the edge of Saint-Christophe-sur-le-Nay and Dissay, the bridge over the river Escotais collapses under the weight of the train that broke up in the river. The driver and another person died in the disaster.
On the grave of François Boileau a sculptor reproduced in great details the entanglement of the locomotive and the wagons.
Opening hours of the cemetery:
from 1 October to 31 March from 8:00 to 17:30
from April 1 to September 30 from 8:00 to 19:00
