Le flatiron qui se trouve à l'intersection des rues Saint-Denis et Gilford est une succession de plusieurs bâtisses attenantes dont les trois premières forment la pointe.
L'établissement d'un premier théâtre à cet endroit remonte à 1912 avec la fondation du Chanteclerc par Charles(Assef) & Julius(George) Farhood, fils et père, immigrants libanais. Ils présentaient des films et des pièces de théâtre francophones, chose rare à Montréal à l'époque.
On y trouve actuellement le restaurant méditérranéen Ouzeri, le restaurant Le Barbare et Le Théatre du Rideau Vert.

The flatiron located at the corner of St. Denis and Gilford streets is a succession of several adjoining buildings whose first three form the tip.
The establishment of a first theater in this place dates back to 1912 with the founding of the Chanteclerc theater by Charles (Assef) & Julius (George) Farhood, son and father, Lebanese immigrants. They had movies and French plays, a rarity in Montreal at the time.
Nowadays, the flatiron hosts two restaurants, the Ouzeri, a Mediterranean restaurant and Le Barbare. It also hosts a theater, Le Théâtre du Rideau Vert.
