The Post Shop offers a full postal, delivery, banking & travel service & is open 9 to 5 Monday to Friday only.
Historically it was designed by the NSW Colonial Architect's Office under James Barnett & built by T Avey in 1888. The date of construction is prominent on the front of the building. The NSW Government's Environment & Heritage Office (
visit link) describes it as:
"A single storey brick Post office with corrugated iron gambrel roof and attached arcaded section. The building originally had a colonnade four arches wide, which was extended along with the main part of the building to six arches in 1888. The Quarters are at one end of the building, with a small entry porch flanking the colonnade, and a verandah extending across the back of the building."
