Moses Burgess moved from Dennis to Bass River (South Yarmouth) around 1830 and built this house. He sold it to Zenas Wood, who was a captain. The Ladies Library Association was started in Stephen Wing's home in 1869. The library moved to this location in 1935. It is also known as South Yarmouth Public Library.
