Though it is still in use and in pretty good repair, the style of this elevator suggests that it could be nearly as old as its older, abandoned sibling across Round Butte Road. This elevator is clad in galvanized steel, affording weather protection not available to the other one.
Though it was likely used as a grain buying and shipping point for many years, that position has since been assumed by a much larger and much more modern terminal style elevator, also across Round Butte Road. This one is now used for storage of fertilizer, and possibly other materials as well, such as seed.
