As described by the National Geodetic Survey in 1973 (although already monumented by the CGS back in 1918):
"IN HOUSTON.
AT HOUSTON, AT THE WEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF CONGRESS AND SAN JACINTO STREETS, SET VERTICALLY IN THE SOUTHEAST FACE OF THE HARRIS COUNTY CIVIL COURTS BUILDING, 2.2 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE EAST CORNER OF THE BUILDING, AND ABOUT 2.0 FEET ABOVE THE SIDEWALK."
The 1973 description and associated reference points (i.e. distances/directions) are still good references for locating this station, no specific corrections/amendments are needed at this time.
The station's associated NGS Data Sheet's posted coordinates are pretty much in line with my own observations: the NGS reports the station at "N 29 45 40.14 W 095 21 33.66" which was quite close to my personal readings -- as measured within 10' accuracy and 20+ reading averages: "N 29° 45.669 W 095° 21.563".
