The first church at Dunvegan was built of cedar logs in 1840. In 1871, the cornerstone of the present stone church was laid. A bell was put up in the tower in 1884.

The dated marker in the cemetary reads:
"Erected in memory of
our Pioneer forefathers
who first settled in this community and built
Kenyon Presbyterian Church
on this lot in the year 1840."

Many headstones are etched with the names of the pioneers and past church members and families that called the Kenyon Congregation in Dunvegan their home.
