Located in the heart of the veterans cemetery portion of Redding Memorial Park is a tall, white obelisk-shaped monument with a decorative concrete urn on top. At the base of the monument is an inscription that reads:

DEDICATED
TO THE MEMORY
OF THE
U.S. SOLDIERS.
MAY 30, 1915.

This veterans cemetery portion is comprised of graves of veterans who fought in wars including the Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War. I would suffice that there are approximately 400-500 veterans graves in this section of the cemetery.

Date cemetery was established: 1879
