V parcíku u kostela sv. Jana Krtitele v ulici Bratrancu Veverkových se nachází pomník vynálezcu ruchadla bratrancu Václava a Františka Veverkových. Jeho autorem je Josef Strachovský. Pomník v roce 1883 odhalil F.L.Rieger. Na soklu pomníku je uveden letopocet 1827, tedy rok, kdy ruchadlo vynalezli. Pomník puvodne stával na Palackého tríde pred Synagogou (dnešní križovatka u Tesca).
